Prelude

Hymn 437

All my hope on God is founded;
Day by day my trust is new.
Through the trials of life He guides me,
Only good and only true.
God alone, dearly known,
Calls my heart to be His own.

Earthly treasures, pride and glory,
Human power and worldly trust,
Though with care and toil are builded,
In the end will fall to dust.
But God’s power, hour by hour,
Is my temple and my tower.

Daily does th’almighty Giver
Bounteous gifts on us bestow.
Love’s desire our soul delighteth,
Joy attends us where we go.
Blessings stand at God’s hand,
Healing flows at Love’s command.

Now from man to God eternal
Endless thanks and praise be sung.
Hearts made new are anthems raising
Through the love of Christ, His Son.
Hear God’s call, one and all,
We who follow shall not fall.

Christian Science Hymnal, No. 437. Words: Joaquin Neander; Tr. Robert Bridges; Adapted Fennella Bennett, Alt. Music: Herbert Howells.

Readings
From the Bible, and correlative passages from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

Silent Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Hymn 536

No mortal sense can still or stay
The flight of silent prayer,
Unceasing, voiceless, heart-desire
That seeks God everywhere.

The heart’s own longing lifts it high
Where words can never reach,
Though human lips may never form
That glory into speech.

The voices that are worldly wise,
With mortal modes in tune,
Are mute in that transcendent hour
When God and man commune.

Christian Science Hymnal, No. 236, Words: Samuel Greenwood, Alt. Music: American melody, Arr. Annabel Morris Buchanan; harm. Charles H. Webb.

Hymn 601

With one accord in one place,
In joyful praise of God’s grace,
We join together in one divine embrace.
A rushing mighty Spirit
Descends from heaven, hear it:
“I have touched your heart
And made whole your heart,
Now go walk in My light.”
All can hear of it,
Hearts revealing it,
Gently moved by Your might.

Of one accord, of one Mind,
Our healing mission we find.
We pray together—our lives in worship bind.
The Comforter is with us;
Its presence here assures us:
“I am guiding you
And uniting you
Through the love of God’s Son.
I am blessing you;
I am healing you;
I am making you one.”

Christian Science Hymnal, No. 601. Words: James R. Corbett. Music: Ryan Vigil.
