Youth Activities

“Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 18:3)

Our Sunday School reflects our focus on the Bible and its practical truths for everyday living.

We create a happy, encouraging environment where students feel at home and nurtured.

You are lovingly invited to bring your children to this joyful place where they can learn more about God and His love for them!

Sunday School

Our church provides Sunday School classes for youth up to age 20. The classes are held at the same time as our Sunday morning church service.

It has been said that Sunday School is the most important school on earth. We believe this to be true. A spiritual education has far-reaching value for children, inspiring and encouraging their spiritual growth, life purpose and happiness.  Our focus for this spiritual approach is the Bible. Our dedicated teachers nurture in their students an understanding of God as Love, always cherishing and caring for them.  Students learn that the positive, spiritually inspired ideas they learn and treasure result in harmonious outcomes in their lives.

Our classes are adapted to the understanding of the students. The younger classes are taught Bible stories, the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Sermon on the Mount.  The older classes continue their Bible study while learning how prayer is a practical way to see and feel the presence of God in their lives. The Christian Science Bible Lessons, consisting of passages from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the discoverer of Christian Science, provide the basis for instruction in these classes.

Child Care

We provide childcare for those too young to attend Sunday School. Loving care is provided for infants up to the time when children are ready to transition to the Sunday School learning environment. Typically, this is around 3 years of age, but children move to the Sunday School when they are ready.

Childcare is also available during the Wednesday Testimony Meetings for any child not yet ready to sit through the entire meeting. Children may choose to attend part of the meeting and spend the other part in the childcare room.

Scouting

Our church enthusiastically supports the scouting program. We currently have several young people working on their Eagle Scout projects. We host Scout sleepovers and provide meeting opportunities.

We offer mentors to help Scouts earn their God and Country award.

And we offer a Girl Scout badge program on the life of Mary Baker Eddy through our Christian Science Reading Room.

Community Service & Fellowship

We encourage our young people to be involved in the community, including the annual Richardson Trash Bash, Feeding Children Everywhere event, collecting donations for the Network of Community Ministries, and garden clean up days at our church.

Summer Camps

Summer time can be a fun time and a growing time! These six summer camps, located across the United States and Canada, offer a variety of exciting programs. Though their dates, activities and prices vary, the camps all share a commitment to each camper’s moral and spiritual growth through group living in the outdoors. Children and teenagers are given opportunities to practice Christian Science in a challenging but supportive environment, make new friends, learn new skills, develop a sense of responsibility and teamwork, and have a great time in the process. One of these camps has a program just right for your child!
